Common Amerikooler problems we fix
In plain words, the way kitchen and laundry staff describe them when they call.
Walk-in will not reach temperature
Door sags and will not close
Panels sweat on the outside
Door thermometer reads wrong
Interior light does not work
Panels or cam-locks no longer line up
Amerikooler Quick Ship Rooms
Amerikooler walk-ins are modular rooms made of XPS-insulated panels that lock together with cam-locks. The Quick Ship line comes in standard sizes, with QC models for coolers, DF models for freezers and DW models for combination rooms. Refrigeration can be a self-contained unit on top of the box or a remote system, and a digital thermometer on the door shows the room temperature.
When a Room Will Not Get Cold, Sweats or Sags
When a box will not get cold, we compare the setpoint with the room temperature, then look at the charge, the condensing unit and the evaporator. A cooler needs its condensing unit and its evaporator on separate electrical circuits, so a shared circuit or a tripped breaker is on our list. A door that sags usually needs the hinge regulator adjusted, and a wrong reading on the door thermometer sends us to the probe and its wiring.
Sweating panels are most common where the air is humid, as in Miami and Houston. Humid air from the building, little air movement in the room, or an unsealed panel joint lets moisture collect on the outside. We check the joints and the seals. A standard room is built for indoor use only, and a unit that was moved outside needs a look at the door and the roof seams. A monthly glance for light around the door and between the panels catches seal wear early.
Older Rooms
The serial plate is inside the door frame. We repair older Amerikooler rooms when the panels are dry and straight, and we say plainly when they are not. Repairs are backed by a 30-day workmanship warranty, and you see the price in writing first.

Amerikooler lines and model numbers we service
Current and older lines. Find the number on the data plate and open its series for the usual repairs.
Why are the walls of my Amerikooler sweating?
The usual causes are humid building air, poor air circulation in the room or a panel joint that is not sealed. We check the joints, the seals and the airflow.
Can I use a standard Amerikooler room outdoors?
A standard room is made for indoor use. Customized outdoor models exist, so tell us how your room is installed and we check the door, the roof seams and the unit.
What do QC, DF and DW mean in the model number?
QC marks a cooler, DF a freezer and DW a combination room with both sections. Read the whole number off the plate for us and we plan the parts.
