How the ASQ Glasswashers Work
The ASQ II is an undercounter carousel glasswasher with a chemical sanitizer, gravity drain and a push-button timer. A full cycle runs 72 seconds: 40 seconds of wash, 14 seconds of drain and flush, then 21 seconds to refill and rinse. The operator has a red START button and separate FILL and DRAIN switches. The earlier ASQ is an older glasswasher still in service in many bars, and we repair it too.
Rinse water stays in the tank and becomes the next cycle’s wash water, so standing water after a cycle is normal on the ASQ II. Hot water comes from the building’s water heater, and the maker does not recommend tankless on-demand heaters for these machines. The detergent, rinse aid and sanitizer lines are color coded red, blue and green, and an empty container is an easy first check.
Checks and Fixes
Clogged spray arm tips can be cleared with a toothpick. Drain the tank first, and only then lift out the pump filter basket. If the fill is short, hold FILL until water reaches the decal. When none of that helps, we test the timer, switches, fill valve, drain and chemical pumps. In a busy bar, humid air and constant splashing wear on timers and switches.
You get a written price first and a 30-day warranty on the repair.
American Dish Service lines and model numbers we service
Current and older lines. Find the number on the data plate and open its series for the usual repairs.
Is standing water in my ASQ II after a cycle normal?
Yes. The rinse water stays in the tank and is used as the next cycle's wash water. If the water level is too low or the machine will not fill, hold FILL until it reaches the decal, then call us.
How do I clear a clogged spray arm on my American Dish Service glasswasher?
Use a toothpick to clear the spray arm tips. Always drain the machine before taking out the pump filter basket. If glasses are still not clean, call us and we test the pump and chemical feed.
Does my ASQ II work with a tankless water heater?
The maker does not recommend tankless on-demand water heaters for these machines. The building's hot water heater should supply the glasswasher. If the rinse is cool, call us and we look at the supply.
