Univex Meat Slicer Repair
We repair Univex manual and automatic slicers, including the 4612, 6612M, 8713 and 1000 models, in Miami, Los Angeles, Houston, New York and San Diego. Older Univex slicers are welcome, and we tell you the price in writing first.
Common Univex slicers problems
In plain words, the way kitchen and laundry staff describe them when they call.
Blade does not turn
Dull cut or weak sharpener
Carriage drags when pushed
Automatic stroke stops working
Motor overload keeps tripping
Univex makes slicers from economy to premium, in manual and automatic versions. Current models include the 4612, 6612M, 8713M, 8713S, 1000M and 1000S, and the older 7510, 7512 and 8512 are still in service in many delis. The S versions are automatic.
When the blade does not turn, we check the incoming power, the motor and the start switch. A dull cut usually means the blade needs sharpening or the sharpener stones are worn. A carriage that drags needs the slide cleaned and lubricated, and worn bushings replaced. On automatic models, a stroke that stops engaging sends us to the drive mechanism and the controls.
Slicers are washed down daily, and moisture and food residue get into switches, bearings and the sharpener. That is why a slicer that worked for years can start to drag, hum or stop partway through a stroke. We clean and lubricate what we can and replace what is worn.
Repeated motor overload trips make us check blade condition and carriage load before suspecting the motor. We confirm parts before the visit, and we tell you honestly when an older slicer would cost more to repair than it is worth. Our repairs come with a 30-day warranty on our work.

Why does my Univex automatic slicer stop stroking?
The stroke drive or its controls may need attention. We test the mechanism and the switches, then give you a written price before we replace any part.
Can you repair the sharpener on a Univex slicer?
Yes. Worn stones or a misaligned mount are the usual causes, and we replace or adjust them. We tell you the price in writing before we start the work.
Do you service older Univex slicers like the 7510?
Yes. We repair older models still in service, and we say plainly when a repair is not worth it. We write the price down before we start.
