Univex Models in Our Service List

Univex’s planetary mixers are the SRM+ series, from the SRM12+ and SRM20+ up through the SRM30+, SRM40+, SRM60+ and SRM80+. Many have a PTO hub for attachments, and older SRM12, SRM20, SRM30 and SRM80 machines without the plus are still in service. For dough we also see the SL spiral mixers such as the SL80RB, SL120RB, SL200LH and SL280LH. Univex slicers include the 4612, 6612M, 8713M and 1000M, with older 7510, 7512 and 8512 units still around.

Our Approach to a Univex

When a mixer will not start, we check the bowl guard and interlock first. A speed change that is hard or noisy points to variable-speed drive wear, and a motor that trips on heavy dough leads us to the load and the motor. If the PTO hub will not turn an attachment, we check the hub drive, and grease at the planetary head tells us a seal needs replacing.

On slicers, a blade that does not turn sends us to the motor and the start switch. Automatic models that stop stroking need the stroke mechanism checked, and a dull cut often means a worn sharpener. The grinder heads that bolt onto SRM mixers can smear meat when the knife or plate is dull, or slip at the hub. We say plainly when an older machine is not worth the repair, and we confirm parts first.

FAQUnivex questions
Do you repair older Univex mixers without the plus designation?

Yes. We service the SRM12, SRM20, SRM30 and SRM80 as well as the SRM+ models. We give you the written price first, and say plainly if a repair is not worth it.

Why is the speed change on my Univex mixer stiff and noisy?

Wear in the variable-speed drive is the usual cause. We inspect the drive and the shift mechanism and give you a written price before replacing any part.

Can you repair the grinder head that attaches to my Univex mixer?

Yes. We check the knife, the plate and the hub drive. A grinder that smears often just needs a sharp knife and a flat plate.

Do you service Univex slicers?

Yes. We work on the 4612, 6612M, 8713M and 1000M and older Univex slicers. We check the motor, the start switch, the sharpener and the carriage.
