What does Milnor error code E7 0 mean?

Milnor coin-operated washer-extractors check their inputs when power comes on. One of them is the attendant key switch, which lets an attendant start the machine without coins. If the controller finds that input already on at power-up, it posts E7 followed by 0, shown as “Attendant switch Input Error”.

The manual's reading has two parts. Either the keyswitch was in the Attendant, horizontal position when power was applied, or a wire in the switch circuit is grounded. It also gives a practice rule for attendant mode: always remove the key when the wash cycle begins. The error clears automatically once the input is no longer present, so the manual describes no separate reset. If the switch is in the normal position and the code stays, the wire or switch is the next suspect, and that requires a technician to trace.

  • Switch wire rubbing on the frame behind the panel

Safe checks before calling for service

✓ What an operator can do
  1. Look at the key switch. If the key is in the horizontal Attendant position, turn it to normal and remove it.
  2. Wait a moment to see whether the code clears by itself, as the manual says it should once the input is gone.
  3. If the key is already in the normal position and E7 0 stays, do not open the panel.
  4. Tell the technician whether an attendant used the switch recently.

How a technician diagnoses error code E7 0

  1. Read the code and check the key switch position.
  2. Measure the switch input with the key in the normal position.
  3. Check the switch wiring for a grounded wire.
  4. Test the switch contacts for sticking.
  5. Replace the switch or repair the wire as found.
! Leave this to a technician
  • A grounded wire has to be traced inside the control with the power on or isolated by a qualified person.
  • Reading the input at the controller needs the manual's schematic.
  • Replacing a key switch is a wiring job in the control panel.
