Continental Girbau Inteli Washer Error Code 119: Insert Card
Code 119 means the card reader does not detect an inserted card. Check that the card is inserted, reinsert it, press STOP to clear, and try another Inteli card. If none works, the card reader is replaced.

What does Continental Girbau error code 119 mean?
Washers with the Inteli card system start a cycle only after the reader recognizes a card. When the control is waiting for a card and the reader detects nothing, it displays 119 (Insert card). In many cases that is exactly what is wrong: the card is missing, inserted the wrong way round or not pushed all the way in. The manual lists the sensible order: verify the card is inserted, reinsert it, press STOP to clear the message, try another Inteli card, and replace the card reader if no card is read. Causes are not broken out for this code in the source. A worn card is a cheap explanation, since the magnetic or chip surface wears with use, and trying a second card separates a bad card from a bad reader. If the reader is the problem, code 14 may also appear, which refers to the card access failure and the reader cable.
