Lincoln Impinger Pizza Oven BELT JAM: Conveyor Motor Not Running
BELT JAM means the oven did not see the conveyor motor running. A technician checks the conveyor motor, the Hall effect sensor and its supply, and the oven control.
High: the conveyor is not proven to run, so baking should stop.

What does Lincoln BELT JAM mean?
The oven proves the belt is moving with a magnet and a Hall effect sensor on the conveyor motor. As the motor turns, the magnet passes the sensor, and the control counts the pulses to show belt speed. If the motor is not running, the pulses stop and the display shows BELT JAM. The manual calls it a conveyor motor failure. The service manuals add detail for the case where the motor runs but no speed is displayed: check about 10 VDC at the Hall sensor, on the red and yellow wires, from the oven control, then the motor and sensor. Otherwise, they list the motor, the capacitor, the reversing switch and the oven control. So the message can mean a jammed belt, a failed motor, or a sensor that is not counting. The same message and meaning appear in the Impinger I 1450 and 1451 service manual.
Affected models and control systems
Lincoln Impinger II 1100 Series Digital Advantage ovens (for instance 1116, 1130, 1132, 1133) and the Impinger I 1450/1451 push-button ovens, which show the same message.
Code numbers and their meaning can change between control generations. We match the full model and control before acting on a code.
What you may notice
- BELT JAM on the display
- Conveyor not moving or stopping
- Conveyor moving with no speed shown
Possible causes
Listed in Lincoln's documentation
- Conveyor motor failure
- Hall effect sensor or its supply voltage
- Oven control
Other likely causes — what usually sits behind BELT JAM on this control. A technician confirms which one it is before any part is replaced.
- Product, a bent pan or a dropped tool jammed against the belt or the end stops
- A conveyor chain or belt that has stretched and binds on a sprocket
Safe checks before calling for service
- Turn the oven off and let it cool.
- Check that nothing is jammed against the belt or in the oven entrance and exit.
- Make sure the belt can be moved by a gentle hand push with the oven off.
- If BELT JAM returns, note whether the belt actually moves.
How a technician diagnoses BELT JAM
- Read the display and watch whether the belt turns.
- If the motor runs without a speed display, check about 10 VDC at the Hall sensor's red and yellow wires.
- Check the magnet and the Hall effect sensor and its wiring.
- Test the conveyor motor, capacitor and reversing switch.
- Replace the failed part, or the oven control if everything else tests good.
- The motor, capacitor and reversing switch run on line voltage.
- The Hall sensor voltage is checked with the control powered.
- A hot oven near the conveyor drive limits safe access.
How BELT JAM differs from similar codes
The "--:--" time display on 1100 models points to the same Hall sensor and magnet when the motor is running.

Is the belt really jammed?
Not always; the message can mean the sensor is not seeing the motor turn.
What if the belt runs but no speed shows?
The Hall effect sensor or its supply is the first suspect.
Does it apply to older ovens?
Yes, the Impinger I 1450/1451 service manual uses the same message.
