What does Lincoln --:-- in the time display mean?
The time display shows how long a product takes to cross the oven, and the oven works that out from the conveyor motor. A magnet on the motor passes a Hall effect sensor, and the stepper control counts the pulses. If the motor is running and the magnet is in place, but the display shows --:-- in the time display, the pulses are not reaching the control. The manual lists this as a troubleshooting entry, not as a numbered code. Its three causes are a Hall effect sensor that is defective or improperly connected, a magnet that is damaged or missing, and the stepper control. The steps are: check the magnet, the Hall effect sensor and its wiring, and only if there is still no time display and everything else is good, replace the stepper control. The belt may be moving normally while the display shows nothing, so bake time cannot be trusted.
Affected models and control systems
Lincoln Impinger II 1100 Series conveyor ovens with the stepper drive (models 1100 to 1103, 1116/1117, 1130 to 1133, 1160 and related).
Code numbers and their meaning can change between control generations. We match the full model and control before acting on a code.
