Hobart Commercial Dishwasher Error Code FILL ERROR: Service Required
FILL ERROR - Service Required on a Hobart LXe dishwasher means the unit timed out before it was completely filled. It is locked out: the only thing it allows is power down, so switch it off and call service.

What does Hobart FILL ERROR - Service Required mean?
Each cycle starts by filling the tank and the booster. The control gives the fill a limited time. If the water level does not come up in that time, such as low water in the booster or a time-out within any cycle, the control stops and shows FILL ERROR / Service Required (Service Phone Number). Unlike the temperature messages, this one locks the machine: it is locked out apart from power down. The reason is that running pumps and heaters without enough water can damage them. The manual says to power down and call service. Common reasons for a slow or incomplete fill include a closed water supply, a blocked inlet strainer, a stuck fill valve, or a level sensor that does not report the water. The operator can check the supply valve, but the cause inside the machine is for a technician.

- If FILL ERROR returns, note it and the service phone number for the call.
How a technician diagnoses FILL ERROR - Service Required
- Verify water supply pressure and flow at the machine.
- Clean the inlet strainer and check the fill valve coil and operation.
- Check the level sensor and its tubing for blockage.
- Measure fill time and compare it with the control's limit.
- Repair the part and run a full fill and cycle.
- The fill valve and level circuit are wired at 208-240 V in a machine with standing water.
- Locating why the tank did not fill requires tests on valves and sensors.
How FILL ERROR - Service Required differs from similar codes
FILL ERROR is a fill time-out; DRAIN ERROR is a level that will not rise. Both lock the machine.
