Douglas Machines Pot and Pan Washer Error Code Er02: Stop Pressed
Er02 means the Stop button was pressed during the wash cycle. It is an operator notice, not a breakdown. Start a fresh cycle if the load did not finish washing, and call us only if Er02 appears when nobody touched the machine.
Low: an operator notice that a cycle was stopped by hand, and the machine itself is working.

What does Douglas Machines error code Er02 mean?
Er02 is the plainest message on the Douglas touch pad. During a wash cycle the control watches the Stop button, and if it is pressed, the machine ends the cycle at once and shows Er02 to record why. Nothing has broken: the control did exactly what it was told. The consequence is for the load. Because the cycle was cut short, the pots and pans have not had their full wash or rinse, and the maker's usual answer is to run a fresh cycle. The code is useful in a kitchen with several people sharing the machine, because it tells the next person that the last cycle did not finish, not that the machine failed. The maker's list of reasons is short and ordinary: Stop pressed on purpose, Stop pressed by accident, a touch pad that registers a press without one, or the door opened as the load was adjusted. Only the third is a repair. If Er02 shows up when no one has been near the machine, or comes back repeatedly after cycles start, the pad itself needs a look, because a pad that registers phantom presses can interrupt a cycle at the worst time.

- The message shows with no one nearby
Possible causes
Listed in Douglas Machines's documentation
- Stop button pressed on purpose
- Stop button pressed by accident
- Touch pad registering a press that did not happen
- Door opened while the load was adjusted
Other likely causes — what usually sits behind error code Er02 on this control. A technician confirms which one it is before any part is replaced.
- A touch pad membrane worn at the Stop key from years of greasy fingers and steam
- Water or cleaner that has seeped under the pad overlay and bridges the Stop contact
Safe checks before calling for service
- Note that the cycle was stopped, and decide whether the load needs a fresh cycle.
- Start the cycle again if the pots did not finish washing.
- Check that nothing leans on the touch pad.
- Wipe the pad clean with a damp cloth, not a spray.
- If Er02 appears when nobody touched it, call us and tell us how often.
How a technician diagnoses error code Er02
- Ask staff whether Stop was pressed and whether the door was opened.
- Confirm Er02 recurs without any input by running a test cycle untouched.
- Inspect the touch pad overlay for lifting, moisture or wear at the Stop key.
- Test the Stop input at the PC board with the pad disconnected.
- Replace the touch pad only after the input test shows it is sending a false signal.
- The Stop key sits on a pad wired to a board with live voltage behind it.
- A pad that registers phantom presses can only be proven by testing the input at the board.
- Replacing a touch pad needs the matching pad and board part numbers.
