Codes 16 and 19 mean the A6 input/output board has a problem or has lost communication with the microprocessor. A technician verifies the setup, wiring, supply and LED; operators cannot do this safely.

What does Continental Girbau error code 16 mean?
The A6 board, also called I/O2, is an optional board that extends the control's inputs and outputs. It is only used if it is activated in the setup. The control checks the board and the communication to it. Code 16 means the board itself was found to have a problem, and code 19 means communication between the microprocessor and the A6 board failed. Either one shows on the display with the number. The manual's checks follow the board's needs: verify that A6 is activated in the setup, that it is wired correctly, that 12 VDC is present on the +A1 and +A3 bus, and the state of the input LED A6-H17. The source stops at the checks and does not name a failed part. A board that is activated in setup but not physically present is one simple way to get this alarm, and the reverse is possible too.
Affected models and control systems
