Continental Girbau Inteli Washer Error Code 33: Inverter Memory Failure
Code 33 means a failure in the inverter memory or a general inverter failure. It uses the same checks as code 9. Restart once, and call a technician if it returns.
High: the inverter has failed and the washer is down.

What does Continental Girbau error code 33 mean?
The inverter stores its settings in a memory. If that memory cannot be read back correctly, the inverter reports a failure and the control shows 33 (General inverter failure / failure in inverter memory). The sheet puts 33 in the same row as code 9, so the checks are the same: verify the inverter is clean and undamaged, check the discharge resistor and earth, make sure the belt is not slipping, check the wiring from A1 to A2 and A1 to M1, and make sure the motor phases are balanced. The source describes the checks and leaves the causes unnamed. A true memory failure is internal to the inverter, but because the same display covers general failures, the outside checks come first. If they all pass, the inverter is the remaining suspect. Code 128 is related, as it reports parameters that do not match, but it points to data that can be reloaded, while 33 points to the memory itself.
Affected models and control systems
Continental Girbau E-Series washer-extractors with Inteli control, sheet names RMG055 and smaller and EH060 and larger. Washers with Logi, LogiPro or Vended control use ALn alarms instead.
Code numbers and their meaning can change between control generations. We match the full model and control before acting on a code.
What you may notice
- Code 33 on the display
- Drum does not start
- Alarm reappears after each restart
Possible causes
Likely causes — what usually sits behind error code 33 on this control. A technician confirms which one it is before any part is replaced.
- Power surge that corrupted the inverter memory
- Terminal at A1, A2 or M1 loosened by vibration
- Moisture reaching the inverter
Safe checks before calling for service
- Stop the cycle and let the drum settle completely.
- Switch the washer off for one minute and restart once.
- Keep all panels closed.
- Tell the technician whether the code appears at power-up or later.
How a technician diagnoses error code 33
- Read the code and compare it with code 9.
- Verify the inverter is clean and undamaged.
- Check the discharge resistor and earth, and the belt.
- Check the wiring A1 to A2 and A1 to M1, and the motor phase balance.
- Replace the inverter if the memory failure persists.
- The inverter stores charge and is on a high-voltage supply.
- Terminal checks are made on live circuits.
- A replacement inverter needs the right parameters loaded.
How error code 33 differs from similar codes
Code 33 shares the row of code 9. Code 128 is a parameter mismatch, and code 10 an unnamed failure.

Is 33 the same as 9?
They share a row and the same checks.
Can I reload the memory?
Only a technician can, and a true memory failure may need a new inverter.
Will a restart help?
Perhaps once. A damaged memory returns the alarm.
