Jackson Dishwasher Error Code F1: No Water in Booster
F1 on a Jackson DishStar HT-E means the control could not confirm water in the booster tank, so it will not let the booster heater run. Check that the water supply is on and the pressure is right. If F1 stays, the fill circuit, the booster probe or the float switch needs a technician.
High: the control stops the machine and will not run it until the cause is fixed.

What does Jackson error code F1 mean?
The final rinse on this undercounter dishmachine comes from a small booster tank with its own heater. A heater that runs dry is damaged quickly, so the control insists on proof of water before it allows any heat. When it cannot confirm water in the booster tank, it stops the machine and shows "F1 Service needed" with the line "No water in Booster". The manual lists several things that can leave the control without that proof: low or no water pressure, an inlet valve or fill relay that has failed, a booster heater contactor that is not turning off, a bad booster temperature input (P12) on the IO module, a bad booster probe (T3), and a bad float switch that lets heaters run with no water in the tub. The list mixes plain supply problems with electrical ones. That is why the first checks are easy and the later ones are not: water pressure of 10 +/- 2 PSI is something an operator can ask the plumber about, while the contactor and the IO module are service work.

What you may notice
- Display reads F1 Service needed, No water in Booster
- Machine stops and will not run a cycle
- Final rinse is weak or missing, with dishes coming out warm but wet
Possible causes
Listed in Jackson's documentation
- Low or no water pressure
- Inlet valve or fill relay failed
- Booster heater contactor not turning off
- Booster temperature input (P12) on the IO module failed
- Booster probe (T3) failed
- Float switch failed, letting heaters run with no water in the tub
Other likely causes — what usually sits behind error code F1 on this control. A technician confirms which one it is before any part is replaced.
- A water shutoff behind the machine that was closed during cleaning
- A clogged inlet strainer that restricts the fill to the booster
- Scale in a hard-water supply that slows the booster refill
Safe checks before calling for service
- Make sure the water supply valve to the machine is fully open.
- Ask whether other fixtures on the same line are running low on pressure; the manual's target is 10 +/- 2 PSI.
- Turn the machine off, wait a minute, and turn it back on to see whether F1 returns.
- Write down the exact text on the screen and whether the machine had just been filled or drained.
How a technician diagnoses error code F1
- Confirm F1 and read the water supply pressure at the machine against the 10 +/- 2 PSI figure.
- Check that the fill relay supplies voltage to the fill solenoid, and replace the failed part.
- Check the booster heater contactor for welded contacts.
- Substitute a 1.2 kOhm resistor for the T3 probe and see whether the booster heater turns off; if not, replace the IO module.
- Check T3 resistance against the manual's table, and replace the float switch if the above all pass.
- Contactors and the IO module carry the machine's line voltage and cannot be tested with the panel closed.
- The resistor substitution test is a meter-and-jumper procedure on live control wiring.
- A booster heater that runs without water can burn out, so guessing is costly.
How error code F1 differs from similar codes
F1 and F6 describe the same no-water condition, F1 for the booster tank and F6 for the wash tank. F2 is the opposite booster problem, a heater that stays on.

Can I keep washing with F1 showing?
No. The control has stopped the machine so the booster heater cannot run without water.
Will F1 clear once the water is back?
If the supply was the only cause, it may clear after a restart. If it returns, the fill circuit or probe needs a technician.
Is F1 the same as F6?
They look alike but they are separate. F1 is the booster tank and F6 is the wash tank.
