Scotsman Ice Machine Error Code 1: No Ice Sensed (Prodigy Plus)
A steady 1 on a Scotsman Prodigy Plus flake or nugget machine means the controller did not sense ice and shut the machine down. A reset clears the shutdown, but the machine will stop again if the cause remains. Press Off then On, check that the water supply valve is open, and call us if the code returns.

What does Scotsman error code 1 mean?
A Prodigy Plus flake or nugget machine makes ice by freezing water on an evaporator and moving it out with an auger. The controller expects to sense ice being produced. If it senses none for long enough, it retries and then shuts the machine down, leaving a steady 1 on the code display. A reset clears the shutdown, but the machine does the same again if the cause remains. Staff find no ice production and a code on the display, and water or refrigeration are the first areas we look at. The manual lists a low water supply or reservoir level, an ice sensor or its wiring that has failed, an auger that does not turn or an evaporator coated with scale, and a low refrigerant charge. For staff, the sensible actions are simple: reset, confirm the water supply is open and see whether the code returns. The remaining causes involve the auger drive, sensor circuits and refrigerant circuit, which are service tasks.
