Alrm is the break-in alarm on Speed Queen single and stacked dryers. The control saw the door switch or the coin vault switch report an opening it did not expect. Latch the coin vault door and shut the dryer door fully before anything else.

What does Speed Queen error code Alrm mean?
The Alrm display is a security response, not a heat or airflow warning. The electronic control keeps watching two switches: the one on the dryer door and the one on the coin vault. As long as they report what the control expects, nothing is shown. If either one reports an opening at a moment when no opening should happen, the control treats it as possible tampering with the dryer or its cash box and puts Alrm on the display. Because the check is only about access, the drum, burner and exhaust are not part of it. The reading can be correct, for example when the vault door was left unlatched after emptying coins. It can also be wrong, when a switch sticks, a plug works loose or a wire is damaged, so the control believes something was opened when nothing was. The manual lists those same possibilities, and it also lists the control itself misreading a switch. On gas dryers, a gas smell means leave the building and phone the gas utility from outdoors.
