What does Speed Queen error code OFF mean?
This dryer has a security feature that watches the door switch and the coin vault switch. A first unexpected opening gives the warning, Alrm. If the problem continues, the control moves to the stronger response and puts OFF on the display (display text: OFF). In that state, the dryer is out of service until the cause is dealt with. The point is to protect the cash box and keep the machine from running with a door that might be open. It is not a heat, airflow or gas problem, and the drum and burner are not what the control is judging. The manual lists a coin vault door left unlatched, a door switch stuck or out of adjustment, a broken wire on a switch circuit, and a control that misreads the switch inputs. Never bypass a door switch to get the dryer running. On a gas dryer, smelling gas means leaving at once and calling the gas utility from outside.
