Stero Dishwasher Error Code LOW RINSE TEMP: Rinse Too Cool
LOW RINSE TEMP on a Stero dishwasher shows when the rinse temperature has been low for three consecutive cycles. The machine keeps running cycles. Check the incoming hot water, and call us if the message continues.
Medium: the machine keeps running, but a rinse that is repeatedly too cool needs attention.

What does Stero LOW RINSE TEMP mean?
The control checks the rinse temperature at the end of each cycle. It does not react to a single low reading. After two consecutive low rinse temperatures, the third consecutive low cycle brings up the LOW RINSE TEMP message. The machine continues to run cycles, so it does not stop on its own, which means the message is a warning to staff that the rinse is not reaching the temperature the machine expects. The message table gives no action, and the manual points to the troubleshooting guidance on water temperature. Causes usually sit upstream of the machine: a water heater that cannot keep up in a busy period, a hot water line that is too cool at the machine, or on the SU-H a booster heater problem. Because dishes still pass through the cycle, the message is easy to ignore, which is why it escalates.
Affected models and control systems
Stero dishwashers SU-L ML-130274, SU-H ML-130273, SG-40 and SG-42.
Code numbers and their meaning can change between control generations. We match the full model and control before acting on a code.
What you may notice
- LOW RINSE TEMP shows after several cycles
- The machine keeps running and washing racks
- Dishes feel less hot coming out of the machine
- The message appears during the busiest rush
Possible causes
Likely causes — what usually sits behind LOW RINSE TEMP on this control. A technician confirms which one it is before any part is replaced.
- A building water heater that falls behind during heavy dish-room use
- A hot water supply valve partly closed, so the machine receives less hot water
Safe checks before calling for service
- Check that the hot water supply valve to the machine is fully open.
- Ask whether hot water elsewhere in the kitchen is also cool.
- Let the machine rest between rack loads if cycles are being run back to back.
- Write down when the message appears and how many cycles in a row, and call us if it continues.
How a technician diagnoses LOW RINSE TEMP
- Read the display and confirm LOW RINSE TEMP and the number of cycles.
- Measure the incoming hot water temperature at the machine.
- Check the rinse temperature probe reading against a thermometer.
- On the SU-H, check the booster heater operation.
- Check for scale on the heating parts.
- Repair the heating part that fails its test.
- Heater and booster tests involve mains power and hot water.
- Telling a weak building supply from a machine problem needs temperature measurements.
- The rinse probe and heaters need to be verified under a running cycle.
How LOW RINSE TEMP differs from similar codes
LOW RINSE TEMP appears after three low cycles. If the condition reaches 10 consecutive cycles, the message becomes LOW RINSE TEMP / Check Water Input.
