Phase 7 is the control on the AD-115, AD-120 and AD-170 and the ML-120, ML-130, ML-145 and ML-170 gas dryers, seven models in all. They are on-premise machines for hotels, laundries and care facilities, and the data plate carries the model.
These dryers use a direct spark ignition module, and some have a fire extinguishing probe. When one lights and then shuts off, we test the flame sensing and the airflow. With no heat, we go through the ignition module and the gas valve. A high exhaust temperature stop tells us to look at lint and the exhaust path, and a tumbler that does not rotate sends us to the drive. Door and lint drawer messages send us to the switches.
We shut off the gas before service, put the estimate on paper before work, and back the repair for 30 days. An older dryer beyond a fair repair gets a candid answer.

What does it mean when the burner lights and then shuts off?
The control did not hold the flame or did not see enough airflow. We test the flame sensing, the ignition module and the exhaust, and we tell you which it is before repairing.
What is the probe on some of these dryers?
Some Phase 7 models carry a fire extinguishing probe in the dryer. Give us the model number when you call, so we know whether yours has one and which parts apply to it.
