- GLT-80
Repairs this series usually needs
- Kettle slow to heat
- Tilt gear stiff or leaking
- Drawoff valve dripping
- Jacket not holding steam
- Burner not lighting on gas kettles
Market Forge makes jacketed kettles in two-thirds and full jacket styles, up to 100 gallons. They tilt by crank, lever or power, or they stay put, and they heat by direct steam, electricity or gas. One model name you may see is GLT-80.
Let the kettle and contents cool fully before anyone inspects it. Then we look at the heat source, the jacket and its relief valve, the tilt gear, and the drawoff seals. On a gas kettle we test ignition and the burner. A gas odor means going outside and phoning the gas company.
We read the plate for the exact model and confirm parts before the visit. Older kettles are worth a careful look, and we say so when a repair makes no sense.

Look at how it moves: crank, lever or power. The data plate has the model, and we use that number to match parts. If you are unsure, send us the plate number when you book.
Can a leaking kettle valve wait?
No. Hot product can escape from a leaking valve, and the valve itself stays hot. Let the kettle cool, stop using it and call us so we can check the seals and the valve.
Do you repair gas kettles?
Yes. We repair gas kettles as well as steam and electric ones. If gas is in the air, step outside and phone the gas company before you do anything else.
