Repairs this series usually needs
- Generator not filling or low-water cut-off
- CLEAN GENERATOR light stuck on
- Generator not draining at power off
- Unit not holding temperature
- Timer or buzzer problems
Steam-Tech steamers are the countertop Market Forge units that make steam in a generator rather than a boiler. The plate reads ST-3E or ST-6E for the electric models, and ST-6-TGG or ST-12-TGG for the gas pressureless cookers.
Most calls on these start with water. A level control board handles both filling and low-water protection, so we check it along with the fill valve, the drain line and the drain solenoid. Then we look at the CLEAN GENERATOR light and the hold function. Scale is the quiet enemy.
These are older units. We keep them going where that makes sense, and we are honest when it doesn’t. Tell us whether the red CLEAN GENERATOR light is on when you call; it helps us decide what to bring.

It is the 6-pan electric Steam-Tech countertop steamer. The data plate carries the full model, and we use that number to match parts before we come to your kitchen.
Why will my steamer not drain?
A clogged drain line or drain hole, or the drain solenoid, is the usual cause. We check each of them in turn, clear or replace what is needed, and write the price down first.
Is the red light the same as the READY light?
No. The red light means the generator needs cleaning, while the green READY light means the generator is up to steam and the steamer can cook. They tell you opposite things.
