Repairs this series usually needs
- Motor that will not start in vegetable mode with the plunger lowered
- Hopper too full so the plunger does not activate the microswitch
- Machine that will not start from a safety sensor
- Noise from a rubbing disk or worn bearings
The Sammic CA series are continuous-feed vegetable cutters with a brushless motor: the CA-2V, CA-3V, CA-4V and CA-62.
A plunger that is lowered can stop the motor from starting in vegetable mode, and the owner presses Start again if the plunger has been open for over 30 seconds. If the hopper is too full, the plunger does not reach the microswitch. We check the safety sensors and the switch, then the disc and the bearings. Unplug the machine before touching a disc.
Because the CA relies on a plunger and microswitch, small adjustments often solve a no-start. We give a written price first, and say plainly when the machine is not worth another repair. We also check the microswitch that the plunger presses.
About this series
- Continuous-feed vegetable cutters
- Brushless motor
- Disc cutting
Why will the motor not start with the plunger down?
In vegetable mode, a lowered plunger can keep the motor from starting. Raise the plunger and press Start again, and call us if the motor still stays off.
Why does a full hopper cause trouble?
The plunger may not reach the microswitch, so remove some product and try again. If the plunger still does not register, the microswitch itself needs a look from us.
Is the plunger a safety part?
Yes. The machine checks it before starting in vegetable mode, so a plunger that is up or a hopper that is overfull can keep the motor off.
