The EZ Com is an older Southbend gas convection oven with an RTD controller. The two models are the CG/22SC and CG/12SC, and the number is on the data plate. When something is wrong, the temperature display shows Err and the time display shows a code such as GA:S, Pr:0b, FA:n, bu:tn or CP:U.
That two-part message tells us where to start. GA:S points to the gas and ignition chain. Pr:0b points to the probes. FA:n points to the cavity limit switch and the blower motor switch. Bu:tn points to a stuck button, and CP:U means the controller has to be replaced. In each case the unit has to be switched off and on after the cause is dealt with.
Treat any gas odor as an emergency: step outside and call the gas utility. We repair this older line and say plainly when it is not worth it.

Err shows in the temperature display and the detail shows in the time display. Tell us both, such as Err and GA:S, because the second part identifies the problem.
How do I clear an EZ Com code?
Fix the cause first, then turn the unit off and on. If you cannot find or fix the cause, call us and we will test the oven.
Can an EZ Com oven still be repaired?
Yes, it is an older line still in service. We confirm part availability before the visit and tell you plainly if the oven is past a sensible repair.
