Repairs this series usually needs
- Door gasket and hinge wear from use on both sides
- Warm cabinet from heavy loading
- Door alarm chirps
- Dirty condenser
- Evaporator frost
The TPR is a Turbo Air pass-through refrigerator, with doors on both sides so staff can load from one side and pull from the other. Numbers such as TPR-44SD-N, TPR-44SD-D2-N and TPR-67SD-D2-N show the width and options. Nine numbers are listed.
Because it is opened from both sides, a TPR gets double the door use of an ordinary cabinet. The gaskets, hinges and switches wear sooner, and the door alarm can chirp more often. We check the seals and hinges first, then the condenser, the fans and the controller.
If you notice that one side door does not close quietly, tell us. It helps us find the worn part quickly. We recheck both doors for a firm seal before we leave, because a pass-through loses cold from either side.

Doors open from both sides, so more time passes with a door ajar. A sound gasket and good habits help. Wiping the gaskets helps them seal.
Do both doors wear the same?
Not always. The busier side wears faster. We check both and replace only what is worn. We replace gaskets in pairs when both sides are worn, so the doors seat evenly.
Can you adjust a door that sags?
Yes. We adjust or replace hinges and the door fit, then check the seal. A door that drags or sags lets warm air in at the corner, so we adjust or replace the hinges and then check the seal.
