What does Speed Queen error code Err mean?
A coin dryer gives drying time in exchange for coins, and the control has to recognize each coin as a clean electrical pulse. When a coin passes the sensor, the control expects one proper pulse and adds time. Err appears when the pulse is not valid, or when the coin sensor does not respond at all (display text: Err). Because no credit is added, the customer cannot buy drying time. This code does not describe heat, airflow or the drum, so a dryer showing Err can be perfectly healthy in every other way. The manual points at three places: the coin slot and drop for jams, the coin sensor and its wiring, and the control's coin input. A bent coin, a foreign object, or sticky residue in the slot will give a bad pulse, while a loose plug or damaged wire at the sensor can silence it entirely.
