Repairs this series usually needs
- E0 regulation probe error
- E1 evaporator probe error
- E2 ambient probe error with door-frame sweating
- HI or LO temperature alarms
- Evaporator icing
The 1R, 2R and 3R are the standard Continental reach-in refrigerators, with one, two or three sections. The number on the data plate begins with the section count and R, as in 1REN or 1RENGD, and the letters after it describe glass doors and options. Ninety-one numbers are listed.
The easy electronic control shows E0 for the regulation probe, E1 for the evaporator probe and E2 for the ambient probe, so we know which sensor to test as soon as we read the display. Each probe loss acts differently: E0 puts the cabinet on a time cycle, E1 ends defrost on time, and E2 stops the auxiliary heaters. We then check the condenser, the gaskets and the fans.
Many of these cabinets are older and still working, and we repair them where it makes sense. We confirm the plate number first so gaskets and probes are on the truck, which saves a second trip.

They describe options such as glass doors and half doors. We read the whole number on the data plate to match gaskets and parts. The full number also tells us the door count.
Which E code is the most urgent?
E0 is, because the cabinet then runs on a time cycle instead of real temperature. Check food temperature and call us promptly. E1 and E2 matter too, but they are less urgent.
Do you repair older Continental reach-ins?
Yes. We service older units, give a written price first and say plainly when a repair is not worth it for the age of the cabinet.
Book repair for your Continental 1R, 2R and 3R Reach-In Refrigerators
Tell us the maker, the model number from the data plate and what the unit is doing. We confirm a three-hour arrival window and give you a written price before any work starts.
