Repairs this series usually needs
- LO WATER light from supply, screen or valve trouble
- HI AMPS light from auger jams, slow drains or a frozen evaporator
- HI PRESSURE light in hot rooms or with a dirty condenser
- Drain clog or chassis leak sensor stops
- Time delay with the bin not full from a misplaced transport tube
The Horizon Elite 710 makes soft, chewable Chewblet ice and is common in healthcare, hospitality and drink service. The model numbers are HCD710A, HMD710A and the 230 volt HCE710A and HME710A. A PC board with indicator lights tells you what the machine is unhappy about.
The lights we see most are LO WATER, HI AMPS and HI PRESSURE, along with the drain clog sensor and a time delay light that comes on without a full bin. Poor water, slow drains, a transport tube that backed out of its coupling, and kitchens warmer than the 100 F limit are the usual causes.
We start with water, drain and tube routing, then the condenser, shuttle and PC board. Give us the model number from the data plate and the light you see, and we plan the visit around it.

The drive is drawing too much current, usually from an ice jam in the auger caused by poor water quality, a slow drain, a damaged shuttle or an unplugged gearmotor.
How long should I wait before restarting?
The maker advises waiting five minutes before restarting after an overload so the compressor equalizes and the evaporator thaws. After that, call us if the light returns.
Does summer heat matter?
Yes. The unit is rated up to 100 F air. A hot room or a dirty condenser lights the HI PRESSURE light, and cleaning plus ventilation is the first fix.
