Repairs this series usually needs
- Low water and supply problems
- Auger and gearmotor overload
- High pressure from heat or condenser dirt
- Drain problems
- Aging PC boards and parts
The original Horizon machines came before the Horizon Elite and are now an older line still in service in many facilities. The families are the 700, 1000, 1400 and 1650, and the models include HCC700A, HCD700R, HCC1000W, HMD1400N and HCD1650R.
Follett sorts its parts and instructions for these machines by serial number range, such as serial numbers up to C19999, C20001 to C33984, and after C33984 or C37309. That makes the serial number on the data plate as important as the model.
We check water supply, drain, auger load and the condenser, then the PC board and the sealed system. As with any older machine, we tell you plainly when a repair is not worth it. Please have the serial number ready when you call.

Different serial ranges used different parts and instructions. Matching the serial to the right instructions keeps us from guessing at the wrong version of your particular machine.
Is this line still repairable?
Often yes. Many of these machines run for years with good care. We tell you plainly if the cost of a repair is too high for the machine.
Do the lights match the Elite?
Some do. The earlier PC board differs from the Elite board, so we confirm which board you have before we explain what any light on it means.
