Repairs this series usually needs
- Pilot outage
- Thermocouple output too low
- Oven or hot top heating unevenly
- Convection fan motor overload
- Burner flame yellow or lifting
Beyond the 136, Montague builds Legend heavy duty gas ranges in the 12, 18, 24, 36 and 124 series, with modular M-series versions. Model numbers include 12, 18, 24, M12, M18, M24, 36, M36, 124, 124-5 and 124-8T. The series number sets the basic size, and the modular versions are built to sit in a line.
All use standing pilots with a pilot safety valve. A maintenance schedule and an orifice chart by drill size guide us when a flame is uneven. A convection fan motor has a thermal overload that can trip if the motor runs hot.
If the kitchen smells of gas, go outside and phone the gas utility. Older Montague ranges are within our scope, and we say so when a repair is not worth the spend.

What does the M mean in M24?
The M marks the modular version of the range, built to sit in a line with other pieces. The number is the series. Read us the model from the data plate.
What is an orifice chart used for?
It lists drill sizes for burner orifices by gas type and use. We use it when a flame is uneven or lifting. Burner orifices vary in size by gas.
Do you repair older Legend ranges?
Yes. Older Legend ranges are work we take on. The quote is in writing, and a repair that costs more than it returns gets flagged. Work we do is covered for 30 days.
