Montague Gas Range Repair
We repair Montague Legend heavy duty gas ranges in Miami, Los Angeles, Houston, New York and San Diego, including 136 series range tops, convection ovens and modular M-series units. Older ranges are welcome, and we say plainly when a repair no longer pays.
Common Montague problems we fix
In plain words, the way kitchen and laundry staff describe them when they call.
Oven pilot is out
Pilot flame burns yellow
Burners light unevenly
Oven temperature is off
Hot top or griddle heats unevenly
Convection fan stops running
The Montague Legend Line
Montague ranges are heavy duty gas equipment for restaurants. The Legend line comes as 12, 18, 24 and 36 inch ranges, modular M-series units and the 124 and 136 series. The 136 series is a 36 inch range top that can combine open burners, griddles, hot tops, French tops and planchas, over a standard oven, a convection oven marked V136 or a cabinet base. We also see Technostar, Chinese range and Legend induction models.
Pilots, Thermocouples and Burners
Legend ranges use manual valves, a thermostatic oven and standing pilots with a pilot safety valve and a thermocouple. With a gas smell, everyone steps outside and the gas utility gets the call. Otherwise, when a pilot is out, we clean the pilot orifice if the flame is yellow, then test the thermocouple output. A thermocouple that cannot hold the valve open means the safety valve has to be replaced.
Burners that light unevenly, or a flame that lifts, send us to the orifice size and the air shutter. A hot top or griddle that does not heat evenly is checked at the burners and the plate. A convection fan motor that stops may have tripped its thermal overload, which usually follows heavy heat in the kitchen.
Older Ranges
Montague ranges last, and we see many in older kitchens. We repair them and tell you when a repair no longer pays. The price is in writing before work, and a 30-day workmanship warranty follows it.

What the display or the blinking light means, what is safe to check, and when to stop and call us.
Montague lines and model numbers we service
Current and older lines. Find the number on the data plate and open its series for the usual repairs.
What does the V in a Montague V136 mean?
It marks a 136 series range top with a convection oven under it. The plain 136 has a standard oven, and a 36 model has a cabinet base. Read us the full number from the plate and we plan the parts.
Why does the pilot on my Montague range burn yellow?
A yellow pilot flame usually means a dirty pilot orifice. We clean it, test the thermocouple output and the safety valve, and relight only after the cause is fixed. If you smell gas, leave the building and call the gas utility.
Do you repair Montague griddles and hot tops?
Yes. Griddles, hot tops and planchas are part of the range top. We check the burners, the valves, the thermostat where there is one, and the plate for warping or grease buildup.
