- MC (models not enumerated)
Repairs this series usually needs
- Water not hot enough
- Tripped high limit
- Scaled elements
- Thermostat problems
- Capacity too small for the use
The Mini-Compact MC-Series is Hatco’s smallest booster, with a stainless steel tank that holds 3.2 gallons. It gives up to 114 gallons an hour at a 40F rise, and it is used for hot-water sanitizing or for point-of-use hot water. The data plate shows the exact model.
Because the tank is small, capacity is the first question: a busy dishmachine can ask for more hot water than an MC can supply. When hot water falls short, we check the thermostat, the elements and the high limit, and we look at the size against the machine. Water is hard, and scale on a small element hurts quickly.
Shut the heater off at the breaker before anyone opens or inspects it. A written price comes before the repair, and our work carries a 30-day workmanship warranty.

Is an MC big enough for my dishmachine?
It depends on the machine. The MC gives up to 114 gallons an hour at a 40F rise, which suits small machines and point-of-use. Tell us your machine and we check the match.
Why is my MC not heating?
A tripped high limit, a bad thermostat or a scaled element are common causes. Shut it off at the breaker before anyone checks it, and call us.
What is point-of-use hot water?
It means hot water made close to where it is used, such as at a sink, instead of from a central heater. The MC can serve that use.
