The G4 Gemini and GemX are Wilbur Curtis’s digital brewers. Two modules run them: a universal power module that switches the heater and valves, and a universal control module that runs the display and program. Model names on the data plate start with G4GEM, such as G4GEMT or G4GEMX.
Hard water is the leading cause of service calls. Scale coats the water level probe, so the brewer warns first and then stops. When a module is replaced, the two modules also need matching settings, or the brewer shows an Internal Error or Configuration Error.
We read the message on the display first, since each one points to a short list of parts. Bring the model from the data plate to the call, and mention whether a board was replaced recently, since that changes where we start.

What do the G4 modules do?
The power module switches the heater and valves, and the control module runs the display and brewing program. They must agree on settings, or the brewer shows an error.
Why does my Gemini show a lime scale message?
Scale on the water level probe reads as high resistance. A warning comes first and an error follows. We descale the tank and clean the probe, and we suggest a water filter.
Do you repair older Curtis brewers?
Yes, including earlier digital models. We give a written price first and say plainly if a repair is not worth it for the age of the brewer.
