The ULTRA-1, ULTRA-2 and ULTRA-2A are Bunn’s older gravity-fed frozen drink dispensers, with one or two augered barrels. They show their problems as plain messages, such as TORQUE SENSOR OPEN or FILTER NEEDS CLEANING.
The filter messages are the most common in a busy shop. A hot refrigeration side usually means a clogged filter or poor airflow, and the machine stops freezing at the second level. Early units must be reset to their default settings to clear the filter message, a step we handle on site.
These are older machines that many shops still run. We repair them, and if a repair would not pay off, we say so. If a message returns right after cleaning, the refrigeration side needs a closer look.

What does FILTER NEEDS CLEANING mean on an ULTRA?
The hot gas sensor has seen a high temperature, usually from a dirty filter or poor airflow. Clean the filter and keep the back clear.
Why does my ULTRA auger make noise or jump?
Low brix, a misaligned drum or worn bushings can all cause it. We check the mix first because it costs nothing to fix, then look at the drum alignment and the bushings.
Are parts available for the older ULTRA?
Give us the model from the data plate and we check parts before the visit. The price is in writing first, and a machine past repair gets a straight answer.
