The ULTRA-1, ULTRA-2 and ULTRA-2A are gravity-fed dispensers with one or two augered barrels. The Ultra NX adds an LCD, a cleaning guide and an optional autofill. On both, a Filter Needs Cleaning message means the unit is running hot. On the NX the rear screen needs about four inches of open air behind it, so a machine pushed against a wall is a common cause.
When the message turns into Filter Needs !!!Cleaning!!! on an older ULTRA, freezing is disabled until the problem is cleared. We check the screen, the airflow and the refrigeration system. Torque sensor and temperature sensor messages send us to the sensors and their wiring.
A drink that is too thick or too thin is usually a mix ratio problem, so we check the brix before we touch the machine. Auger noise or jumping points to drum alignment and bushings. Older ULTRA units are still in service, and we tell you honestly when a repair is not worth it.

Why does my Ultra NX say Clean Due Now?
The cleaning reminder is overdue, and the display will not clear until the cleaning is done. Follow the cleaning guide, and call us if the message stays after that.
Why is my frozen drink too thick or too thin?
The mix ratio is the first thing to check. If the ratio is right, we look at the freezing controls and the auger. We give you a written price before any repair.
Does the BUNN dispenser need space around it?
Yes. The rear air screen needs open space behind it to cool the compressor. Crowding it causes the overheating messages we see most often, so we check the clearance when we visit.
