Scotsman Ice Machine Error Code 2: Maximum Harvest Time (ELITE)
A steady 2 on a Scotsman Prodigy ELITE or Prodigy Eclipse EH330/EH430 means the maximum harvest time was exceeded and the machine shut down. Press Off then On to reset, check that the water supply valve is open and do not chip ice from the plate. If the display still shows 2 after a cycle, leave the machine off and call us.
High: the machine has shut down and makes no ice until the harvest problem is fixed.

What does Scotsman error code 2 mean?
After a freeze, the machine harvests: it warms the evaporator plate so the slab of ice releases and falls into the bin. The controller allows a maximum time for that release. If harvest keeps running past it, the controller stops trying and holds a steady 2 on the code display. Staff see no ice production, a code on the display, and often a plate that is partly covered with ice that will not release. The manual lists harvest assist and hot gas flow, scale on the plate, water pump and distribution, ice thickness sensing, and refrigerant charge and valves. Each of these can leave ice stuck: weak hot gas does not warm the plate enough, scale makes ice cling, uneven water distribution builds a thick uneven slab, and a thickness sensor that misreads lets the slab grow too large. The reset step shows staff whether the machine was caught in a one-time event. Chipping ice from the plate is not a safe workaround and can damage the evaporator.
