Scotsman Ice Machine Error Code 4: Pressure Out of Range (Plus)
Code 4 on a Scotsman Prodigy Plus flake or nugget machine means refrigeration pressure was outside its working range, either too high or too low, so the controller shut the machine down to protect the compressor. Press Off then On to reset and clear anything blocking air around the machine. If the code returns, leave it off and call us.

What does Scotsman error code 4 mean?
The refrigeration circuit works within a normal pressure range. If pressure goes too high, the compressor works against more load than it should. If it goes too low, the machine is probably short of refrigerant or starved by a restriction. The controller watches the pressure, and when it falls outside the range it shuts the machine down and shows 4. Staff see a stopped machine with no ice. The manual lists condenser cleanliness and fan operation, water flow on water-cooled models, refrigerant charge and leaks, the metering device and restrictions, and pressure sensing. A dirty condenser, a hot room, low charge or restricted flow can all push pressure out of range, which is why the room temperature and airflow are the first things staff can check without opening anything. Everything on the refrigerant side, including a leak, belongs to a licensed technician, and a reset only buys time if the cause remains.
