Jackson Dishwasher Error Code F10: Wash Tank Not Heating
F10 on a Jackson DishStar HT-E means the wash tank is not heating as expected, which points to the wash temperature sensing, the high-limit switch or the heating circuit. The manual lists five possible causes, all of them inside the machine.
High: the wash tank is not heating, so the machine cannot clean as intended.

What does Jackson error code F10 mean?
F10 is the wash tank twin of F5. When the control calls for wash heat and the water does not warm up, it shows "F10 Service needed" with the line "Check wash tank thermostat and high limit". The manual lists five causes: a failed temperature input (T1) on the I/O module, a failed probe T1, a failed high-limit switch, a failed wash heater, and a wash heater contactor that is not energizing. The first two are about reading the temperature, the third is a protective switch that cuts the heater when it is too hot, and the last two are the power path. The manual's test method is to substitute a 1.8 kOhm resistor for T1 and see whether the heater turns on; if it does not, the I/O module is replaced. After that it checks the probe resistance, the high-limit switch, the heater resistance and the contactor coil drive voltage during a call for heat.

What you may notice
- Display reads F10 Service needed, Check wash tank thermostat and high limit
- Wash water stays cool or warms very slowly
- Dishes with grease left on them
Possible causes
Listed in Jackson's documentation
- Temperature input (T1) on the I/O module failed
- Probe T1 failed
- High-limit switch failed
- Wash heater failed
- Wash heater contactor not energizing
Other likely causes — what usually sits behind error code F10 on this control. A technician confirms which one it is before any part is replaced.
- A high-limit switch that opened after an earlier overheat and stayed open
- A heating element coated with lime scale in a hard-water supply
- A probe whose connector has corroded in the wet tank area
Safe checks before calling for service
- Turn the machine off and let it rest a few minutes.
- Run one cycle and see whether F10 returns.
- Do not reach into the cabinet for a reset; the manual gives none for this code.
- Note how warm the wash water felt and whether earlier codes such as F6 or F7 appeared.
How a technician diagnoses error code F10
- Confirm F10 and check the actual tank temperature.
- Substitute a 1.8 kOhm resistor for T1 and verify the wash heater turns on; otherwise replace the I/O module.
- Verify T1 resistance against the manual's table.
- Replace the high-limit switch if open, and check the wash heater resistance, replacing the heater if it is incorrect.
- Verify contactor coil drive voltage during a call for heat; replace the contactor if voltage is present, otherwise check the wiring.
- All checks involve the heater and contactor circuits on live line voltage.
- Telling a sensing problem from a heating problem requires the resistor substitution and a meter.
- A tripped high limit signals an earlier overheat, so it should not be bypassed or reset without finding the cause.
How error code F10 differs from similar codes
F10 is the wash tank that will not heat. F5 is the same on the booster, and F7 is the opposite, a wash heater that stays on.

Is F10 the same as F7?
No. F10 means the wash tank is not heating; F7 means the heater is staying on.
Can I wash with F10?
The wash water may stay cool, so cleaning and sanitizing results cannot be relied on.
Why does the manual use a resistor?
A known resistor takes the real probe out of the circuit, so the technician can tell whether the control or the probe is the problem.
