TurboChef High-Speed Oven Warning Triangle: Diagnostics Screen
A warning triangle on the CIBO+ touch screen opens a diagnostics screen that lists element or thermocouple problems. Open it, note what it shows, and re-test the item if the screen lets you. If the triangle stays after a restart and a rear thermostat reset, the oven needs service.
Medium: the oven may still run, but a listed heating or sensing problem can leave it under-performing.

What does TurboChef Warning triangle / diagnostics screen mean?
On the TurboChef CIBO+ the warning triangle tells you that something in the heating or sensing system did not pass a check. Touching it opens the diagnostics screen, where an element or thermocouple error can be listed. The oven checks that each element draws power as expected and that each thermocouple reports a believable temperature. When a check fails, the control keeps the triangle on screen so the problem is not lost. The manual lets you re-test an element or thermocouple from that screen, which separates a one-time glitch from a part that has really failed. Switching the oven off at the plug for ten seconds restarts the control. A red safety thermostat button on the rear can also trip when the cavity ran hot, and it can be reset only once the oven has cooled.
Affected models and control systems
This covers the TurboChef CIBO+ (CBO-9500, listed in the manual as CBO-9500-1). The red safety thermostat button is on the rear of the oven.
Code numbers and their meaning can change between control generations. We match the full model and control before acting on a code.
What you may notice
- A warning triangle on the touch screen
- Diagnostics screen listing an element or thermocouple
- Oven slow to reach temperature after a restart
Possible causes
Listed in TurboChef's documentation
- An element or thermocouple that failed its retest on the screen
- A safety thermostat that tripped from overheating at the rear
- Blocked airflow that let the CIBO+ cavity run too hot
- A control board that cannot clear the stored error
Other likely causes — what usually sits behind Warning triangle / diagnostics screen on this control. A technician confirms which one it is before any part is replaced.
- A rear vent or intake partly covered by boxes or grease buildup
- A thermocouple connection that works loose with daily heat cycles
- An element that has opened, so the retest keeps failing the same line
Safe checks before calling for service
- Touch the triangle and read the diagnostics screen. Note which item it names.
- If the screen offers a re-test for that item, run it once.
- Switch the oven off at the plug, wait 10 seconds, and restart.
- When the oven is fully cool, press the red safety thermostat button on the rear.
- Write down the item named and whether the retest passed, and give that to us.
How a technician diagnoses Warning triangle / diagnostics screen
- Read the item on the screen and ask what the oven was doing when the triangle appeared.
- Confirm the intake and exhaust paths are clear and the rear is free of grease.
- With power isolated, check the named element for continuity and resistance.
- Test the thermocouple circuit with a meter against the actual cavity temperature.
- Find out why the safety thermostat tripped before resetting it.
- Replace a part only after it fails its test, then run a heat-up to confirm the triangle stays clear.
- Elements and the safety thermostat sit behind panels on live high-current circuits, so testing needs lockout and a meter.
- A thermostat that tripped from heat means something overheated the cavity, and finding it takes measurements, not a reset.
- Clearing a stored control error without finding the failed part brings the triangle back.

Can I keep cooking with the triangle showing?
That depends on what the screen lists. An element or thermocouple problem can leave food under-cooked.
Will a restart clear it?
A 10-second power-off at the plug sometimes does. If the same item is listed again, the part has failed.
Is it safe to press the red button?
Only once the oven is cool. If it trips again soon after, stop using the oven.
