Merrychef High-Speed Oven Error Code E112: SRB Board Temp Sensor
E112 means the ambient temperature sensor on the SRB relay board has failed. The manual says to replace the SRB, move the PM chip to the new board, and load current firmware.
High: without the board sensor the oven cannot monitor its own electronics temperature.

- Eikon e3, e4 and e5; relay board ambient sensor on the e2 and e6
What does Merrychef error code E112 mean?
The SRB carries its own temperature sensor that measures the air around the board. The oven uses that reading for E103, the board overheat protection. If the sensor stops giving a usable reading, the oven records E112: SRB BOARD TEMP SENSOR. The sensor is part of the board, so it cannot be changed separately. The manual's remedy is a new SRB. As with every SRB replacement, the personality module chip is moved from the old board to the new one, and current firmware is loaded so the new board matches the touch screen board. Without a working sensor the oven cannot tell whether the electronics are getting too hot, which is why it reports the failure instead of ignoring it. A new board that is fitted but left on old firmware can bring up other messages, such as E110, so the firmware load is part of the job, not an extra.
Affected models and control systems
Merrychef eikon e2s with the SRB relay board, which holds the ambient sensor. Confirmed in the e2s service manual.
Code numbers and their meaning can change between control generations. We match the full model and control before acting on a code.
What you may notice
- E112 SRB BOARD TEMP SENSOR on the display
- Oven may refuse to start or stop during a cook
- No board temperature shown in the log
Possible causes
Likely causes — what usually sits behind error code E112 on this control. A technician confirms which one it is before any part is replaced.
- Sensor on the SRB open or shorted
- Board damaged by heat from a blocked cooling path
- Moisture or grease reaching the board
Safe checks before calling for service
- Check that the front air filter is clean and the vents clear.
- Switch the oven off and on once to see if E112 returns.
- Leave the board alone; it is inside the cabinet.
- Tell us if E103 appeared before E112.
How a technician diagnoses error code E112
- Read the log for E112 and any earlier E103.
- Check the cooling path and the air filter.
- Confirm the board temperature reading is missing or out of range.
- Replace the SRB, move the PM chip across, and load current firmware.
- Run a test cook and confirm the board temperature reads normally.
- The SRB is a live board inside the cabinet and cannot be repaired in the field.
- Replacement needs the PM chip transfer and a firmware load.
How error code E112 differs from similar codes
E112 is the board sensor failing, whereas E103 is the sensor reporting a real temperature above 70 C.

Is E112 the same as E103?
No. E103 is a real overheat. E112 means the sensor itself has failed.
Can the sensor be replaced alone?
Not according to the manual. The remedy is a new SRB.
Do I need firmware after replacing the SRB?
Yes. The manual says to load current firmware.
