What does Merrychef error code E080 mean?
E080: TOUCH PREWARNING is the first stage of the oven's check on a stuck touch. Pressure that stays on the QTS screen for more than 5 seconds is not a normal touch, so the oven records the warning. It is the starting point of the touch warnings; E079 covers the case where pressure lasted more than 5 seconds but less than 15. The manual does not list causes, only an action: check the touch screen overlay and see E087. Practical reasons for constant pressure are easy to picture in a busy kitchen. A pan, tray or cloth leaning on the screen, a splash that dried under the overlay edge, or a lifted overlay can all give the same reading. The warning does not describe a heating or safety problem, but it does mean the screen cannot be trusted until the cause is found.
