Stero Dishwasher Error Code Door Open: Door Opened
The Door Open message on a Stero dishwasher appears when the door of the machine is opened. Close the door fully and start again. If the message persists with the door closed, the manual says to contact your local service provider.
Low: it is usually just a door that was opened, and closing it clears it.

What does Stero Door Open mean?
The control watches a door switch so the machine does not wash or rinse with the door open. When the door is opened, the display shows Door Open. This is a status message rather than a breakdown, and the usual cause is simply that someone opened the door, for example to clear a rack or reach the tank. The manual's troubleshooting table on page 22 says to open and close the door, and if the problem persists, to contact your local service provider. That second step matters, because a door that closes but still reads open points to the switch, its actuator or the alignment of the door. In a busy dish room, doors are opened and slammed constantly, and the parts that sense them take that wear. The message is also useful as a clue when the machine will not start a cycle.
Affected models and control systems

Code numbers and their meaning can change between control generations. We match the full model and control before acting on a code.

Possible causes
Likely causes — what usually sits behind Door Open on this control. A technician confirms which one it is before any part is replaced.
- Door of the machine opened
- A door that is not fully closed because of a rack or dish edge in the way
- A door switch or actuator worn by daily use so it no longer reads closed
Safe checks before calling for service
- Open the door and check that no rack, tray or dish edge is blocking it.
- Close the door firmly until it seats.
- Start a cycle and see whether Door Open clears.
- If the message persists, write down the model and when it occurs, and call us.
How a technician diagnoses Door Open
- Read the display and confirm Door Open on this model.
- Check the door closes fully and the alignment is right.
- Inspect the door switch and its actuator.
- Test the switch with a meter when the door is closed.
- Check the wiring to the switch for looseness.
- Replace the switch or adjust the door only after the test.
- The door switch is part of the machine's safety circuit and is never bypassed.
- Testing the switch means working behind panels near mains power and water.
- Door alignment affects splashing and sealing, which affects cleaning performance.
How Door Open differs from similar codes
Door Open is a status message, unlike the Service Required messages, which stop the machine until it is repaired.
