Bloomfield Coffee Brewer Error: No Water Sensed While Filling
No water sensed (shown after filling) means the inlet valve stayed open for 4 1/4 minutes on first fill without the sensor detecting water. Reset with CANCEL for 3 seconds or by re-energizing, and check the water supply first.
High: the brewer shuts down its valves and elements until the water problem is solved and it is reset.

What does Bloomfield No Water Sensed mean?
On first fill the brewer opens the inlet valve and waits for the water level sensor to report water. If the valve has been open for 4 1/4 minutes and the sensor still sees nothing, the controller turns off the valves and elements, alternates the Brew and Power lights with the Heat light, and shows no water sensed. The manual gives three causes. There may be no incoming water at all. The flow may be too slow, under about 45 ounces per minute. Or the water level sensor may not be reading, because of its placement, its connections or lime scale on it. The remedies follow from that: restore the water supply, trim the sensor sleeve so the sensor extends between 1/4 inch and 1 inch, reseat or reconnect the sensor, and clean lime from it. Reset by holding CANCEL for 3 seconds or by re-energizing the brewer.

What you may notice
- No water sensed on the display after filling
- Brew, Power and Heat lights alternating
- Tank empty or barely filled
Possible causes
Listed in Bloomfield's documentation
- No incoming water
- Slow flow, under about 45 oz per minute
- Water level sensor not reading because of placement, connections or lime scale
Other likely causes — what usually sits behind No Water Sensed on this control. A technician confirms which one it is before any part is replaced.
- A line strainer clogged with sediment after a plumbing job
- A sensor sleeve cut too long, so the sensor sits too high for the water to reach it
Safe checks before calling for service
- Check that the water shutoff valve to the brewer is open and the line is not kinked.
- Hold CANCEL for 3 seconds, or switch off power for 5 seconds, to reset.
- Watch the fill and see whether water enters the tank.
- If the message returns, note whether water entered and how fast.
How a technician diagnoses No Water Sensed
- Read the display and confirm it appeared on first fill.
- Measure the supply flow, which should be above about 45 oz per minute.
- Inspect the level sensor for position, connection and lime scale.
- Check that the sensor extends 1/4 to 1 inch below its sleeve.
- Test the inlet valve coil and replace parts as needed.
- The inlet valve and sensor circuit are live line-voltage parts.
- Trimming the sensor sleeve to the correct length needs care.
- The tank sensor must be cleaned of lime without damaging it.
How No Water Sensed differs from similar codes
The brew version of this message appears when the 60-second brew fill fails; this one appears on first fill after 4 1/4 minutes.
