Bloomfield Coffee Brewer Error: No Water Sensed During Brew
No water sensed during a brew means the inlet valve stayed open for 60 seconds without water reaching the proper level. Reset with CANCEL for 3 seconds or by re-energizing, and check the water supply and level sensor.
High: the brewer stops and shuts off its valves and elements until it is reset.

What does Bloomfield No Water Sensed mean?
A brew cycle uses water from the tank, so the brewer refills it while it runs. During that refill the controller opens the inlet valve and expects the water level sensor to report the proper level. If the valve stays open for 60 seconds and the level does not come up, the controller makes the same shutdown as for the filling version. The valves and elements go off, and the display shows no water sensed. The manual lists three causes: no incoming water, slow flow, or a sensor that is not reading. It says to reset with CANCEL for 3 seconds or by re-energizing, and then to check the water supply and the sensor as for the filling error. The 60-second limit is short, so a supply that is only weak can trip it during a busy morning even though the same brewer fills normally at other times. A sensor coated with lime can read dry as the tank fills.
Affected models and control systems
E-Max T controlled Bloomfield 2030 brewers, during the refill that happens while a batch brews. The first-fill version has its own page.
Code numbers and their meaning can change between control generations. We match the full model and control before acting on a code.
What you may notice
- No water sensed on the display during a brew
- Lights flashing and the brew stopping
- Brewer stopping after a few batches
Possible causes
Listed in Bloomfield's documentation
- No incoming water
- Slow flow
- Sensor not reading
Other likely causes — what usually sits behind No Water Sensed on this control. A technician confirms which one it is before any part is replaced.
- A water filter that is clogging and slowing refills during back-to-back batches
- A sensor with a thin film of lime that delays the level reading
Safe checks before calling for service
- Hold CANCEL for 3 seconds, or switch off power for 5 seconds, to reset.
- Check that the shutoff valve is fully open and the water filter, if fitted, is not due.
- Run one brew and listen for the inlet valve and water flow.
- If it returns, note whether it happens on the first batch or only after several.
How a technician diagnoses No Water Sensed
- Read the display and confirm it appeared during a brew.
- Measure supply flow during a refill.
- Inspect the level sensor for lime, position and connection.
- Test the inlet valve for operation.
- Clean or replace the sensor, filter or valve as the tests show.
- The sensor and valve are live parts in the brewer.
- Flow must be measured during an active refill.
- Cleaning the sensor without moving it needs care.
How No Water Sensed differs from similar codes
The filling version waits 4 1/4 minutes on first fill; the brew version waits 60 seconds during a brew.

Why only during brewing?
Because the refill during a brew has a much shorter limit, 60 seconds.
Will it clear by itself?
Not until you reset it and the water supply is restored.
Is this the same as a bad sensor?
Possibly, but supply and flow are the first checks.
