Crathco Models We Repair
The Crathco machines we see in convenience stores, snack bars and restaurants are granita and slush machines with two or three bowls. The G and MG Series Visual models, such as the G23-2B, G235-2B and G236-2B and the MG versions, differ in their controls. The G has an electronic touchpad with LEDs. The MG has traditional rocker switches and a defrost timer. The I-PRO comes in 2.9-gallon double and triple models, with manual or electronic control, on 115 volts. We also repair the older beverage freezers 3312-E, 3511, 3341 and 6321L.
On a G Series, Filtr is a filter cleaning alarm that tells you the machine is running hot because too little air gets in. Err is a system over-temperature alarm, a safety that protects the compressor. Both come from poor airflow most of the time. A machine placed near a heat source or up against a wall restricts the air and triggers these alarms, so we look at where it stands and at the condenser filter.
Controls and Older Freezers
On an MG Series, the compressor waits four minutes before it starts after you switch to freeze, and many owners mistake that wait for a breakdown. A drink that is too soft or too hard sends us to the defrost timer and the settings. On the 6321L, a low refrigerant charge means we check for a leak before we add anything.
Hot kitchens, such as those in Miami and Houston, put heavy demand on the compressor. We tell you plainly when an older freezer is not worth the repair cost, give you a written price first, and stand behind our work with a 30-day warranty.

It is a filter cleaning alarm. The unit is running hot because too little air is getting in. Clean the filter and give the machine room. If it returns, call us.
Why does my MG machine take time to start cooling?
The MG has a four-minute compressor delay after you switch to freeze. That is normal. If the compressor never starts after the wait, we test the controls.
Do you repair the older Crathco beverage freezers?
Yes. We service the 3312-E, 3511, 3341 and 6321L as well as the G, MG and I-PRO machines. We tell you plainly when a repair is not worth it.
