Mazzer Models We Service
Mazzer grinders sit behind many espresso bars. The Super Jolly is a grinder-doser with 64 mm burrs, and the Super Jolly V Up adds electronic dosing with a password menu. The Major, Robur, Royal, Kony and Stark are larger on-demand grinder-dosers. The smaller Mini, Luigi and Lux models are also in service, and we repair those.
These grinders do not show error codes, so we work from what the grinder does. When it will not start, we check the power, the position of the hopper and the safety microswitch, because a hopper that is not seated properly keeps the motor off. After that we test the switch and the motor. A wrong or uneven dose points us to the dose setting and to the doser itself, which collects old grounds and needs cleaning.
Burrs, Grind and Age
A grinder that must be reset finer and finer through the day is drifting, and the cause is often worn burrs or a grinding disk that needs to be set again. Burrs wear with every pound of beans, and a busy shop wears them faster. Dull burrs give uneven grounds, longer shots and a flat cup. We inspect them and tell you if they should be replaced.
On the V Up, the default password is 0000 when you open the programming menu, and if no one has changed it, anyone can reach the dose settings. Older Mazzer grinders last, so we usually repair them, and we tell you plainly when a repair costs more than it is worth. The price goes in writing first, and our work carries a 30-day warranty.

Why will my Mazzer grinder not start?
Check that the plug is in, then make sure the hopper is seated correctly, because the safety microswitch keeps the motor off otherwise. If it still does not start, call us.

The dose setting, an unclean doser or worn burrs are the usual reasons. We check each of them and quote the repair in writing before we start.
