After start-up, the CPU gives the steam boiler a set time to reach its minimum temperature. That limit is the Heating Timeout parameter. If the boiler is still below minimum when the time is up, the CPU shows Steam Boiler Is Not Heating. The reason can be a burned-out element, a relay that does not close, a safety device that has opened, the electrical supply, or a timeout that is too short for the installation. A steam boiler that is not full also warms slowly, so an autofill problem can look similar. The message is separate from the probe message, which says the probe is not detected, and from the overheated message. From the counter, the steam wand simply produces little or no steam, and the pressure stays low long after the machine was switched on. Heating Timeout is the parameter the manual points to, and it sets how long the CPU waits before declaring the failure.
