Meiko Commercial Dishwasher Red Messages: Not Possible to Continue

A red message on the color display of a Meiko M-iClean U means it is not possible to continue working. Write down the exact red number, switch off the on-site power and close the on-site water supply, as the maker says. Then call us with the number.

Medium · inspection needed

High: the machine stops and will not run until the cause is fixed.

What does MEIKO error code 1 mean?

The M-iClean U splits its display messages into two colors. Gray messages are notices that staff can acknowledge. Red messages mean the machine has found a problem it cannot work around, and it is not possible to continue. The red list in the manual is long: 1, 21, 100, 102, 104, 107 to 110, 201, 203, 204, 206 to 209, 330, 420, 425, 427, 600, 602 to 609, 613 to 618, 802, 832, 880, 901, 902, 931 to 945 and 960. Behind the numbers are different circuits, including the door, the water level, the heating and the water supply, plus the pump, the frequency converter and the control board, and the sensors and wiring that serve them. Each number points to a different place, so the useful thing an operator can do is read the exact number correctly. The maker's instruction is to switch off the on-site power supply and close the on-site water supply. Do not try to restart the machine or clear the message, because the technician needs the number and the state of the machine as it was.

Affected models and control systems

This covers the Meiko M-iClean U undercounter dishwasher, from the red and gray messages in its operating instructions. Other Meiko ranges use different lists.

Code numbers and their meaning can change between control generations. We match the full model and control before acting on a code.

What you may notice

  • A red message on the color display
  • Machine that has stopped and will not restart
  • No wash or rinse available

Possible causes

Listed in MEIKO's documentation

  • Which red number is on the display
  • Door, level, heating and water supply circuits
  • Pump, converter and control board
  • Sensors and wiring behind the number

Other likely causes — what usually sits behind error code 1 on this control. A technician confirms which one it is before any part is replaced.

  • A power or water event just before the stop, such as a breaker trip or a closed valve
  • A part that has worn out after heavy daily use, pointing to the circuit named by the number

Safe checks before calling for service

✓ What an operator can do
  1. Write down the exact red number on the display.
  2. Switch off the on-site power supply and close the on-site water supply, as the maker says.
  3. Do not try to restart the machine or clear the message.
  4. Call us with the number. We bring the right parts and give you a written price first.

How a technician diagnoses error code 1

  1. Read the red number and match it to the manual's list.
  2. Check power and water supply to the machine.
  3. Test the circuit the number names with a meter.
  4. Check the pump, converter and wiring involved.
  5. Review the control board inputs.
  6. Replace the failed part only after the test.
! Leave this to a technician
  • Most red numbers involve live 208-240 V circuits such as the pump, the converter and the heating.
  • Each number points to a different circuit, so the right part depends on testing it.
  • Clearing a red message without finding the cause can lead to repeat stops or damage.

How error code 1 differs from similar codes

Gray messages can be acknowledged and work continues; red ones need a technician.
