What does Merrychef error code E094 mean?
One step of the recommission test asks the person at the oven to put the front air filter in place. The oven then watches the filter microswitch, which closes when the filter magnet is near it. If nothing happens within 10 seconds and the switch is still open circuit, the oven records E094: Recommission Fail Filter Install. In plain terms the oven never saw the filter arrive. That can be because nobody completed the step in time, because the filter was not seated against the switch, or because the switch or its wiring is not working. The oven is reading a simple open or closed contact, so the question for a technician is whether that contact can close at all. The manual lists no causes and gives only one action: check the filter microswitch and the connections to it. The matching code E095 covers the opposite step, where the filter is removed.

Safe checks before calling for service
- Take the filter out, check that its magnet is present, and refit it firmly.
- Repeat the install step and complete it within 10 seconds.
- Look for grease or debris packed around the filter seat and wipe it away with the oven cool and switched off.
- Note whether the oven shows E099 FILTER OVERRIDE in normal use.
How a technician diagnoses error code E094
- Confirm the failed step in the recommission result and its timing.
- Check the filter magnet position relative to the microswitch.
- Test the microswitch for continuity as the filter is inserted and removed.
- Inspect the wiring and connector between the switch and the SRB input.
- Replace the switch or repair the wiring, then rerun the test.
- The switch and its wiring are inside the cabinet near mains-voltage parts.
- Continuity testing and rerunning the recommission steps need service-level access.
How error code E094 differs from similar codes

Is E094 only about the filter being dirty?
No. It is about the oven not seeing the filter fit at the switch. A dirty filter is a separate matter that should be cleaned regularly.
Could I have just been too slow?
Yes. The step times out after 10 seconds, so repeat it promptly before concluding the switch is bad.
Is E094 the same as E095?
No. E094 means the switch stayed open after install, while E095 means it stayed closed after removal.
