Merrychef High-Speed Oven Error Code E107: Comm Error
E107 is a communication error between the QTS touch screen board and the SRB relay board. It can also be written harmlessly at boot-up or a firmware update, followed by E000. If it persists, make sure the J45 cable between the SRB and QTS is secure, and replace the cable if needed.

What does Merrychef error code E107 mean?
The two control boards exchange messages constantly. When messages stop arriving, the oven records E107: COMM ERROR. The manual notes that it can be recorded in normal operation at boot-up or during a firmware update, because the link is not yet established. In that case an E000 entry follows once communication is made, and nothing needs to be done. A persistent E107 is different. The manual points to the connections, especially the J45 cable between the SRB and the QTS, and says to replace that communication cable as required. The cable is the physical path for all the data, so a loose, bent or worn cable gives dropouts that look like random freezing or restarts. If the cable and its connectors are good and the code remains, a board is the next suspect, but the manual's stated action is the cable.
