Merrychef High-Speed Oven Error Code E111: Cavity Sensor
E111 means the cavity thermocouple is damaged or unplugged: no temperature rise was registered for 10 minutes during heating. The manual says to check the thermocouple is fitted securely, replace it if erratic or over 25 C out, and replace the SRB if it recurs. A log value of 32767 means open circuit.
High: with no valid cavity temperature the oven cannot control cooking.

What does Merrychef error code E111 mean?
While the oven heats, it expects the cavity thermocouple to show the temperature rising. If 10 minutes pass with no rise, it records E111: CAVITY SENSOR. The reading it gets could be flat because the thermocouple is damaged, disconnected, or not fitted properly. The oven log can show the value it read. A value of 32767 means open circuit, a thermocouple wire that is broken or unplugged. The manual's action starts simple: check the thermocouple is fitted securely. If it reads erratically or is more than 25 C away from the true temperature, replace it. If E111 comes back after that, replace the SRB, which takes the measurement. It follows that E111 is about the sensor circuit, not about the heater, even though what the operator notices is an oven that does not seem to warm up.
Affected models and control systems
Merrychef eikon e2s with the QTS touch screen and SRB relay board controller. Confirmed in the e2s service manual.

What you may notice
- E111 CAVITY SENSOR on the display
- Oven does not appear to heat up
- Temperature display stuck or erratic
Possible causes
Likely causes — what usually sits behind error code E111 on this control. A technician confirms which one it is before any part is replaced.
- Thermocouple lead broken near the cavity wall
- Thermocouple plug not pushed fully into the SRB
- Thermocouple tip contaminated or loose in its mounting
Safe checks before calling for service
- Let the oven cool and note whether the cavity temperature reading moved at all.
- Check that the oven has not been moved or knocked recently.
- Leave the thermocouple wiring alone.
- Tell us what the log or screen shows for the cavity temperature.
How a technician diagnoses error code E111
- Read the log value; 32767 means open circuit.
- Inspect the thermocouple fitting and connector at the SRB.
- Measure the thermocouple signal against a reference temperature.
- Replace the thermocouple if it is erratic or off by over 25 C.
- If E111 returns with a good sensor, replace the SRB.
- The thermocouple runs through the cavity wall to the board inside the cabinet.
- Judging a reading against a reference temperature takes a calibrated meter.
How error code E111 differs from similar codes
E111 is the cavity sensor failing to show a rise; E106 is the cavity reading 25 C too high.

What does 32767 mean?
It is the log value for an open circuit, such as a broken or unplugged thermocouple.
Is E111 the heater?
No. The oven may be heating but the sensor is not reporting it.
Should I just replace the board?
Not first. The manual says to check and replace the thermocouple, and only then the SRB.
