Merrychef High-Speed Oven Error Code E113: Magnetron On Unrequested
E113 means the SRB detected over 1 A on the microwave circuit when it was switched off. The manual says to replace the SRB, move the PM chip across, and load current firmware.
High: the microwave circuit shows current without being requested, a safety concern.

What does Merrychef error code E113 mean?
When no microwave power has been requested, the SRB expects zero current in the magnetron circuit. If it reads more than 1 A anyway, it records E113: MAGNETRON ON WITHOUT REQUEST. In other words, the output that switches the microwave circuit seems to be stuck on. The oven treats this as a safety matter because the magnetron could be energized without the operator asking for it. The manual's single action is to replace the SRB, move the PM chip to the new board, and load current firmware. This is the mirror of E101, where a magnetron was requested and drew too little current. Here the current flows when it should not. Because the fix is a board, the technician first makes sure the oven is isolated and the door is closed correctly.
Affected models and control systems
Merrychef eikon e2s with the SRB relay board that switches the microwave circuit. Confirmed in the e2s service manual.
Code numbers and their meaning can change between control generations. We match the full model and control before acting on a code.
What you may notice
- E113 MAGNETRON ON WITHOUT REQUEST
- Oven shuts down or will not start
- Microwave energy that seems to run when it should not
Possible causes
Likely causes — what usually sits behind error code E113 on this control. A technician confirms which one it is before any part is replaced.
- Output relay or switch on the SRB stuck closed
- Wiring problem that leaks current into the sense circuit on the SRB
- Residual damage from an earlier overload
Safe checks before calling for service
- Switch the oven off at the breaker if it behaves as if microwave is running without a cook.
- Do not open the cabinet.
- Note what the oven was doing when E113 appeared.
- Give us the model and any recent repair history.
How a technician diagnoses error code E113
- Read the log and confirm E113 and not E101.
- Isolate the oven and inspect the SRB wiring and connectors for damage.
- Confirm the current reading in visual view with no cook requested.
- Replace the SRB, transfer the PM chip, and load current firmware.
- Test a short cook and confirm the circuit switches off on command.
- Microwave energy on without a request is a safety issue on a circuit with lethal voltage.
- SRB replacement requires isolation, PM transfer and firmware loading.
How error code E113 differs from similar codes
E113 is current when the microwave should be off; E101 is too little current when it is requested.

Is E113 serious?
Yes. It means the microwave circuit shows current without a request, so stop using the oven until a technician checks it.
How is it different from E101?
E101 is a magnetron that does not draw enough current when asked. E113 is current present when none was asked.
Will resetting the oven clear it?
Not reliably. The manual's remedy is a new SRB.
